Cashiers

The Cashiers screen lists everyone who can open the POS. It is a filtered view of your WordPress users, not a separate account system.

Open the screen

Go to DevDiggers Plugins → MultiPOS → Cashiers.

The columns

Column	What it shows
ID	The WordPress user ID
Username	Login name, with the email under it
Role	POS Cashier, Administrator or Shop manager
Assigned Outlet	The outlet this cashier opens

ID, Username and Role are sortable. Click a heading to reorder the list.

The search box above the table matches on ID, username and email, which is what you want once you have a dozen staff. Screen Options at the top right sets how many rows show at a time.

Who appears here

Three roles, and only three: POS Cashier, Administrator and Shop manager. They are the same three that can open the terminal.

Your customers and subscribers never appear, because they cannot use the POS.

Add a cashier

Click Add New at the top of the list.

That opens the WordPress Add New User screen. Fill in the username, email and password, then set Role to POS Cashier before saving.

The role is what makes them a cashier. Save with any other role and you have created an ordinary user who cannot open the POS.

Bulk actions

Tick rows and pick Delete.

Caution

Delete removes the WordPress user account, not just their POS access. Their past orders and transactions survive, because those store the user ID rather than a link to a live account, but the name stops resolving on the Staff Attribution column.

To stop someone using the POS while keeping their account intact, change their role to Subscriber under Users instead.

Removing a cashier who has left

Change the role, do not delete the user. It takes the same number of clicks and leaves your order history readable.

1. Go to Users → All Users.
2. Open the person who has left.
3. Set Role to Subscriber.
4. Save.

They lose the POS immediately and every order they ever took still names them in the Staff Attribution column.

Assigned Outlet

The free version has one outlet, so every cashier shows the same one.

Pro feature

Pro assigns outlets per cashier, and it does it on the WordPress user screen rather than here. A MultiPOS Outlet Details card appears on Add New User and on the user’s profile the moment Role is set to POS Cashier, carrying one field: Assigned Outlets.

It is a multi-select and it is required. Save a POS Cashier with none chosen and WordPress refuses with “Please select the assigned outlets.”

The field decides what the cashier sees at the outlet picker. It decides more than that: a cashier can only log in to the POS of the outlets assigned to them. Someone who works two branches picks between them; someone who works one goes straight in.

Where a cashier changes their own details

Not here. Inside the terminal, under Settings → Account, a cashier can fix their own first name, last name and password.

Email is read only there, so an address change still comes to you.
