Wallet Management FAQs

Short answers to the questions that come up most. Each links to the doc that covers it properly.

Why is the Wallet payment method missing at checkout?

Section titled “Why is the Wallet payment method missing at checkout?”

Most often it is still disabled. It ships off, so turn it on under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Wallet.

It also hides itself in four situations. A zero balance, a balance smaller than the order total, an order above Max Debit Limit, or a partial payment already applied. A checkout holding a top-up never offers it either.

See The Wallet Payment Gateway.

A customer topped up but their balance did not change. Why?

Section titled “A customer topped up but their balance did not change. Why?”

The balance moves when the top-up order reaches Completed, not when it is placed.

Check the order status first, then Wallet Topup Order Status under Configuration → General. Set to Completed it forces top-up orders through as soon as they are placed.

No. A wallet belongs to a WordPress account, so a guest checkout has no balance and no My Wallet page. Customers have to register before any of this applies to them.

Three usual causes, in the order worth checking.

  • The order never reached Completed.
  • No rule matched. Cart bands are matched against the subtotal, before shipping and tax.
  • Cashback Credit Delay is holding it for a set number of days.

See How Cashback Is Awarded.

Only from a rule whose Basis is Topup. Cart, user role and first-order rules are skipped on a top-up, because a top-up is not a purchase.

Basis is a Pro column, so the free version cannot reward top-ups at all.

Does the plugin pay withdrawals out automatically?

Section titled “Does the plugin pay withdrawals out automatically?”

No. A withdrawal is a request. The balance is debited straight away, and you send the money yourself by whatever route the customer named, then mark the request paid.

See Withdrawal Requests.

A working wallet. Balances, top-ups, paying a whole order, cart cashback, signup credit, Send Money, manual adjustments, CSV import and the emails around all of it.

Pro adds withdrawals, money requests, referrals, OTP and partial payments. Also top-up and spending limits, top-up presets, four more kinds of cashback rule, cashback expiry and CSV export.

Not on the Users list. Use Manual Adjustment or a CSV import, so the change writes a transaction row.

That is deliberate. A balance with no row behind it is one nobody can explain three months later.
