Medical Prescription Attachment FAQs
Short answers to what store owners ask most about Medical Prescription Attachment. Longer walkthroughs live in Tutorials, and every field is in Configuration.
Does every product need a prescription once the plugin is on?
Only if Allowed Categories is left empty. Pick the categories that need one under Configuration, General, exclude single products there, or set Always or Never on a product's own edit screen. The product's own setting always wins, so one product can be switched on or off without touching its category.
Can guests upload a prescription?
Yes, a guest can upload at checkout like anyone else. What a guest cannot do is Attach later, because only an account can come back to the order afterwards. A guest who picks it is asked to log in first.
Which file types can customers upload?
Photos in JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, PDFs, Word documents and plain text files. Each file must be under your server's upload size limit, and one order takes up to the Maximum Files you set, five by default. Files are stored in a private folder and hidden from the media library.
Will a paid order ship before the prescription is checked?
No. The order is held in your While Under Review status, On hold by default, even when a card payment or Cash on delivery would normally move it to Processing. It is released only when the prescription is approved, and then moves to your On Approval status, Processing by default.
Is the customer refunded when a prescription is rejected?
No. By default a rejected order stays on hold so the customer can send a replacement. If a refusal should end the order, set On Rejection to Cancelled and refund the payment through WooCommerce as usual. The plugin never refunds a payment itself.
Can a customer use the same prescription again?
In Pro, yes. A customer picks an approved, unexpired prescription at checkout instead of uploading it, and the new order is approved on arrival. Refill tracking limits how many times each approval can be reused, and an expired approval drops out of the list.
Who can see the uploaded prescriptions?
The customer whose order it is, your prescription reviewers and shop managers, and a prescriber holding a verification link for that one order. Files sit in a private folder that refuses direct requests, and they are hidden from the media library.
Does it work with the Checkout block?
Yes. The upload box appears in the Cart and Checkout blocks as well as the classic pages, and the block checkout refuses an order without a prescription with the same message the classic checkout shows. Both are covered by the same settings.
What does the free version include?
The whole core workflow. Category and product rules, the upload in the cart and at checkout, Attach later, the order hold, approve and reject with a reason, emails, re-uploads and protected storage. Pro adds the review workspace, details, reuse, expiry, verification, consent and the compliance tools.
