Crowdfunding FAQs

Short answers to common questions about Crowdfunding. Step by step guides are in Tutorials, and every field is in Configuration.

Is there a free version?

Yes. The free plugin runs complete campaigns that you create, with goals, end dates, up to three rewards, a supporters wall, share buttons, the dashboard and four emails. Pro is an add-on that adds all or nothing funding, stretch goals, updates, customer campaigns, payouts, a platform fee, categories and full email wording.

Why has a contribution not been added to the campaign?

A contribution counts only when its order is Processing or Completed. Bank transfer, cheque and cash on delivery orders wait On hold until you mark them paid. Check the Counted column on the Contributions screen, then complete the order.

Where are my campaigns in the shop?

Campaigns are hidden from the shop and product searches on purpose. List them on a page with the [ddwccf_campaigns] shortcode, or show one with [ddwccf_campaign id="123"], and link to their pages directly.

What happens if I refund or cancel a contribution?

A fully refunded, cancelled or failed order is taken back out of the campaign. The amount, the supporter and any reward claim are reversed. A partial refund leaves the order Completed, so it stays counted.

Does all or nothing charge supporters only if the goal is met?

No. Supporters pay at checkout like any order. If the goal is missed by the end date, you refund them all with the Refund supporters button on the Campaigns screen. Use payment methods that can refund through WooCommerce.

Can customers start their own campaigns?

Yes, in Pro. Turn on Customer campaigns on the General tab. Customers then start and manage campaigns from My Account, and with Approval on, each one waits for you before it goes live.

How do creators get their money?

In Pro, once a campaign closes with money raised, the creator clicks Withdraw in My Account. You see the request under Campaigns, Payout requests, send the money yourself and click Mark as Paid, or pay it into their DevDiggers Wallet.

Can I take a commission?

Yes, in Pro. Set a percentage or fixed platform fee on the Payouts and Fees tab. It is taken off at payout, can be changed or waived per campaign, and supporters can choose to cover a percentage fee.

Can a campaign keep raising after it reaches its goal?

Yes. Turn off Close on goal on the Contributions tab and campaigns stay open until their end date. All or nothing campaigns with an end date always stay open until then.

Can a supporter give without an account?

Yes. Guests can contribute through your normal checkout if guest checkout is on. Signed-in supporters also get a Backed Campaigns page in My Account.
