Hide Price for Guest FAQs
Short answers to what store owners ask most about Hide Price for Guest. Step by step guides are in Tutorials, and every field is in Configuration.
Why do I still see the prices?
You are logged in as an administrator, and prices are hidden from guests by default. Open the store in a private window. If a guest still sees prices, check that the license is active, Enable Hide Price For Guest is ticked and an active rule covers the product.
Can I hide prices from logged-in customers too?
Yes. Add Customer to Hide Prices For on the General tab, or to a rule's own Hide For list. A login button never shows to someone already signed in, so give those rules a custom URL button instead, such as a trade application page.
Can a guest still buy a hidden product?
No, while Block Purchases is on, which it is by default. The add to cart button is replaced, and a direct add to cart link is refused with "Sorry, this product cannot be purchased." Turned off, a link can put the product in the cart, where its price shows.
Does it hide the price from Google?
Yes, with Search Results on, which is the default. The price is removed from the product's schema data, so search results do not show it. Google updates its copy the next time it crawls the page.
How are variable products handled?
Each variation is checked on its own, so one variation can show its price while another is hidden. The product's price range is built from the open variations only, so it never names a hidden price. To hide the whole product, use a Product condition naming it.
Who receives the quote request emails?
The addresses in Notify Emails on the Display tab, your admin email by default, plus a copy to the customer if Customer Copy is on. Both are WooCommerce emails, so their subject, heading and on/off switch are under WooCommerce, Settings, Emails. Every request is also saved on the Quote Requests screen, even if the email fails to send.
Does it work with page caching?
Mostly. Guests and signed-in users are usually cached separately already. Country rules need a cache that varies by country or skips product pages, and a scheduled rule's change shows once the cached page expires.
What happens to my settings when I update from version 1?
The old settings are turned into a rule named Migrated rules on the first load after the update, so the same products stay hidden. Open the Rules screen afterwards to rename or split it.
Is there a free version?
No. Hide Price for Guest is a paid plugin, and every feature in these docs is in the version you buy. It needs an active license to run on the storefront.
