MultiPOS for FluentCart FAQs
Common questions about running a counter with MultiPOS for FluentCart. For a step-by-step start, read How to Set Up Your Outlet and then How to Take Your First Sale.
Does MultiPOS for FluentCart need WooCommerce?
No. It needs WordPress 6.5 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer and FluentCart 2.0 or newer, and nothing else. Products, stock, customers, coupons, tax and orders all come from FluentCart.
Does it work with FluentCart free?
Yes. FluentCart Pro is supported but not required. With FluentCart Pro active, its features that act on a paid order, such as licenses, run for counter sales too. Subscription and bundle products are left out of the POS by default and stay with the online checkout.
Do POS sales show in FluentCart?
Yes. Every sale is saved as a paid FluentCart order, with your chosen status (Completed by default), one line per item, fees as fee lines, coupons as applied coupons and a succeeded transaction. It shows in FluentCart Orders, its reports and the customer's order history like any other order.
Can it run next to MultiPOS for WooCommerce?
Yes, on the same site, with separate settings and tables. Both open the POS at /pos and the kitchen screen at /kitchen by default, so give one of them other paths under Configuration and General before anyone uses either.
Who can open the POS?
Users with the POS Cashier role, administrators and, with FluentCart Pro, FluentCart managers. A cashier only opens the outlets assigned to them. Any other logged-in user who visits the terminal URL is sent to the home page, and a visitor who is not logged in gets the POS login screen.
Does the POS share stock with my website?
At an outlet set to Centralized, yes. It sells from FluentCart stock, which needs FluentCart's Stock Management module, so selling the last item at the counter stops the website offering it. An outlet with custom stock keeps its own count under Assign Stocks and leaves FluentCart stock alone.
Are customers added at the POS WordPress users?
No. A customer added at the POS is a FluentCart customer record, listed under FluentCart and Customers, with no WordPress login. Sales with no customer picked go to the Walk-in Customer record the plugin creates, or to the Default Guest Account you choose.
Do FluentCart coupons work at the POS?
Yes. The cashier types the code and the server checks it again, including its status, dates, usage limits, minimum spend and whether it stacks with others. The coupon is saved on the order as a FluentCart applied coupon and its use count goes up.
Can I sell while the internet is down?
Yes, with Enable Fast Offline-Online Sync on. The POS queues orders in the browser. Reconnecting does not send them, so open Orders, then the Offline tab, and press Sync All Orders. Each becomes a FluentCart order, and a sync sent twice does not create the order twice.
How do refunds work?
Refund whole lines or part of a line from the order in the POS, with or without restocking. The refund goes through FluentCart's own refund service, so the order shows partly or fully refunded in FluentCart. Only cash refunds lower the expected drawer amount.
